Something to say...
There's been a lot of negativity in the world of craft blogs lately.
After many failed attempts at blog posts addressing the sources of negativity I've settled with this:
My mom has an expression that if you look for the bad in people, you will find it.
As much as I hate it when she has directed this expression my way, I have to admit that I think it is good advice.
In light of these last few days and recent events around the world, perhaps before we speak out and look for the bad in people, we can all remember (because I am guilty of this, too) that there are enough bad things out there that we can't control.
So I won't point fingers, but instead will point out that:
Sewing is a hobby and it's supposed to be fun (peaceful and meditative, even).
(Carry on).
XO,
Rhea

Love it, Rhea! short and sweet and right on!
Your mother is spot on right!
love it. right there with you!
What is there not to love about fiber???
Well said. Mums have a way of being annoyingly right, don't they? :-)
Gotta love your mom.
Every time I see someone posting about negativity in the blog world, I always wonder "where?" Am I missing something? Not active enough? Not checking back on my favorite blogs' comments?
I have found bloggers, especially crafting bloggers, to be very considerate and encouraging of each other. Its like they understand that we are showing off our babies to the world and feel a little protective of them.
I'm sorry if you've been having a different experience lately.
Emma, you are so right! 9 times out of 10, crafting bloggers are so polite and encouraging to each other, which is probably why it seems so out of place when a little negativity seeps through. If you haven't noticed any of it, you are on the right path: whatever you are reading or NOT reading, keep on doing it!
XO,
Rhea
Yay for sewing!!
Even when it DOES get frustrating, it just adds to the fun and to the story of the end product!
I have a random question for you Alewives ladies. I know one of you has a hello kitty janome sewing machine (forgive for not remembering your name!). I also own the same model and recently purchased a quilting foot that was guaranteed to fit the low shank of this machine. Do you also own a quilting/walking foot for your janome? I have attempted to attach it myself, following detailed instructions, but I feel that I was accidentally sold a high shank foot instead.
Advice?
Best,
Sarah
