I've been cheating on sewing with knitting...
(with this yarn and this book...)
And oh yeah, we got our woodstove up and at 'em and I can make one heck of a fire.
And last but not least, Ollie and I have been renting our house for the past 3 years, but this Wednesday, we signed papers and became home owners.
It feels really good to knit by the woodstove in your own house.
See you all again soon...
XO,
Rhea

What are those? Handwarmers or an afgan? Can't make it out! Congrats on the house!
Knitting is so fun when you are sitting in front of a fire:) Congrats on getting your very own home-just in time for the holidays!
Hi Cindy... They are the Sycamore Fingerless Gloves from Midwest Modern by Amy Butler.
Thanks for the house love! :-)
LOL re: cheating on quilting with knitting -- that's how I felt about my knitting when I started quilting!
Congratulations on your new home!
Very pretty yarn. Congratulations on your home purchase. A wood stove always adds soul to a home. Enjoy knitting and warming your toes by the cozy firelight. Jacinta
Rhea! Congratulations on becoming a home owner! So happy for you and Ollie!
I don't own a sewing machine, but thanks to Alewives, am addicted to fabric. When I can't borrow a machine from a friend {grad school is expensive, so I can't buy one yet}, I knit. Badly. I knitting a sock. I'm not convinced it knows it's a socks, actually.
Kate, you would be a good candidate for some hexagons...:-)
What are hexagons?! Wait, that came out wrong. I am educated, lol, promise. But what does that mean? If an Alewives girl says it, I trust it!
Hey Rhea, congratulations on becoming homeowners! That's so exciting! And the knitting looks great! I was a knitter before I started sewing. I have a lot of stuff languishing on needles actually...

Congrats on your home purchase, Rhea. That's so great! And to be in one of the prettiest villages in Maine... and to be able to walk to work (and be surrounded by beautiful fabric while you're there)...how lucky are you?!
Kate, hexagons are all the rage right now... everyone's mad for them here at the shop! You use paper templates and stitch them completely by hand. They're super cute. If you scroll through the spring months of my blog you'll see my recap of the hexagon class we did here at the shop. Sooo fun... if you've got $3.95, a needle, some thread and scraps of fabrics, you'll never be bored again!
